In 1852, Mr. Mallory agreed to let the community build a church in its present location so long as it remained a non-denominational church for all to worship.There were a few squabbles concerning that topic over the years, but all in all the little church was the corner stone of the rural community. In 1916 the church was raised and a basement was built. Several updates such as electric lights, a new wood/coal furnace in the basement as well as a kitchen were added. Many area residents donated time and money for the addition and updates. Now has furnace with oil heat. With a congregation of less and less in attendance over the years and the building of a new church in the neighboring community, the Moscow Plains Chapel is left unattended and is waiting a new owner.The building is very structurally sound.
